EDITOR'S NOTE: As we prepare a thorough analysis of the implications this event might have on the Spanish Church, we wish to highlight a piece of news that has captured public attention since February 8, 2024. It concerns the newly appointed Public Health Director for Calatayud in Aragon, Spain, the priest Vicente Jesús López-Brea, whose selection was made directly.
CALATAYUD.- CHA, a political party in the opposition will request explanations for the appointment of Vicente López-Brea as director of the healthcare sector management in Calatayud. We invite you to explore this link, where you will find detailed information about López-Brea, who was regularly seen in places of sexual exchange shortly before his ordination. This priest has neglected more than fifteen parishes under his responsibility in Jaca, Aragon, while studying law and doing internships in Zaragoza (over a hundred km away), in addition to aspiring to a position as an assistant in the Aragon health system that would pave the way to being freely designated for a senior position.
We have also previously reported on the lawsuit filed by Vicente Jesús López-Brea Urbán against journalist Jordi Picazo, in which he demands two years in prison for him, compensation of 100,000 euros, and a fine of 30,000 euros, an amount that has been embargoed, for revealing the double life of this priest. The defense of López-Brea and the legal persecution against the journalist were in charge of the well-known law firm Cremades Calvo Sotelo. It is cynicism that this law firm had been commisioned by the Conference of Bishops to audit the history and the reasons for the sexual abuses by clerics in the Spanish Catholic Church, being homosexual priests the largest bulk of predator's category.
The judge in charge of the case, citing accusations of homophobia against both the Church and Picazo, issued an order to gag the journalist with silence and facilitate López-Brea's rise in public administration through direct appointments. We will continue to report on this issue.
Meanwhile, the last (he recently finished his term in office) president of the Episcopal Conference, Cardinal Juan José Omella, has transferred the friend-bishop of the hypersexualized priest and now Director of Public Health of Calatayud, Monsignor Julián Ruiz Martorell, to a lesser diocese away from Huesca, so that he does not appear as a witness called by journalist Jordi Picazo at trial. Likewise, Cardinal Omella has sent another witness called by Picazo, Monsignor Fernando Arregui, former rector of the seminary in Zaragoza, to live and work at the Vatican for the same reason. It is curious, if not explained by a maneuver of the corrupt Spanish Church and the PP (right-wing People's Party), that this hypersexualized priest, ordained against the requisites established by Canon Law, goes to work close to his friend-bishop Ruiz-Martorell. Monsignor Arregui warned Monsignor Julián Ruiz Martorell that he could not ordain López-Rueda because of his luxurious life.

Now, as informed by a renowned lawyer from Zaragoza, the sister of the head of the firm, Arancha Pajares, would have given the case a feminine and striking nuance. "This is more her sister's style, Arancha's," commented a lawyer from Zaragoza, familiar with the Pajares firm, dedicated to economic rather than clerical issues and the homosexuality of priests, when he read the case filed against journalist Jordi Picazo.
With the apparent provocation that is the above linked article, it may seem that Pajares Lawyers would wish that the journalists from jacquespintor.com publish further insights and responses to once again attract the judge's attention to an alleged contempt of the precautionary order, thus violating the sacred principle of the freedom of expression, press, and information, as well as other fundamental freedoms of the citizens, such as the right of the public to know and to be informed. And all this without the slightest desire to delve into the field of truth, something that is not of interest to certain lawyers and many journalists.
Earlier that same week when the trial was to have place (it has beeb postponed), the lawyer of our colleague in Spain received a call from Pajares at Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo just asking if the trial date was still on. A call that would indicate they would be planning to publish the biased article linked above, presumably using the press as a henchman, perhaps even paying the journalist for that job. The case is that the journalist has not responded to the email from our colleague, an internationally accredited journalist, so he has spoken with the Editorial Office and received no answer either.
All this said, journalist Jordi Picazo is threatened with prison, for warning parents about the influence of a priest visiting free-sex liberal clubs, in charge of their children. This clergyman also directed until recently catechetical, moral, and human formation in 17 parishes in the Jaca area, all while looking for a job as a kitchen assistant in a hospital, according to the official lists of the public health service of Aragon, and doing law internships in a firm related to Pajares.
All this, under the complicit silence of Bishop Julián Ruiz Martorell. Against our judgment, journalist Jordi Picazo has complied with the precautionary order that instructed him to temporarily remove until the verdict, a series of articles where he exercised his journalistic work and his right to inform in compliance with the Publisher's International Code. We agreed in the editorial team and consented to do so. But not now, when this imposed silence is part of a vile strategy for this perverted priest to escalate public office only serving his egocentric goals.
